The University of Nevada, Reno has operated a USDA-approved meat processing plant Wolf Pack Meats, since 1967. Tom Kulas, New Operations manager working alongside the Agriculture department and recently Pack Provisions. Kulas has the initiative to help students engage and learn about agriculture. Any student can get paid hands-on experience with meat production, retail distribution, and packaging.

Working with the agriculture department, student classes come inside to do research projects such as commodity ID, carcass grading, and running experiments working with Wolf Pack Meats Staff. University students have already been working at pack provisions. If you are a student interested in working with Wolf Pack Meats student, positions are available. Wolf Pack Meats is willing to work with students’ schedules by offering paid positions. Creating paid educational experiences for any student who wants to participate.

Located Monday through Friday from 7 am until 3 pm, Wolf Pack Meats holds a sale at their retail store. Meats offered, Beef, Lamb, Sheep, Swine, and Goat, Regular meats, beef snack sticks, and sausages are open to the public call in advance at (755)861–4290 for your order or call to sell an animal.
